Shipper / Receiver

Falcon Equipment is currently seeking an experienced Shipper/Receiver for our Surrey head office.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments by examining contents and comparing with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders.
  • Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials.
  • Determine shipping method for materials using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Reviews of carrier rates to be done on a regular basis.
  • Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Deliver or route materials to associated department(s) in timely fashion using applicable work orders in association with purchase orders.

  • Operate forklift in a safe manner to move product.
  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years experience in a heavy equipment environment or similar industry.
  • Current forklift certification or willingness to be recertified.
  • Must possess current valid driver's license.
  • Cross border logistical experience is a must.
  • The handling and unloading of heavy equipment with safety being of the upmost importance.
  • Chain and Rigging experience or certification.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure with a calming, mature nature.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must be able to do both manual and computerized inventory control.
  • Weight handling of up to 60lbs.
