We are looking to hire an Occupational Health & Safety Administrator for our Prairie Region (Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta). This position will administer and provide support for adherence to the Falcon Equipment Occupational Health and Safety Program. They will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, customers and visitors, and ensuring compliance to all relevant legislation and standards within the industry. The position has the flexibility to have any of the 3 branches as their home base – MB, SK, and AB.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace health and safety regulations for AB, SK, MB.
  • Ensure company compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with current Company first aid attendants’ training and ensure first aid supplies are inventoried.
  • Provide technical health and safety informational support for employees and management
  • Maintain inventory of current employees that contract to customers’ sites and their applicable training(s).
  • Facilitate ongoing support, mentorship, training and compliance to all safety matters within region of responsibility.
  • Provide regional assistance for COR certification, and internal/external COR audits and COR Corrective Action Plans.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Three to five years in a safety designated role.
  • Certified safety training in a heavy equipment/manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Must possess valid Standard/Intermediate First Aid certification.
  • Ability to source credible information from various sources.
  • Ability to problem solve with critical thinking.
  • Inducive reasoning to create effective safety solutions.
  • Ability to work under pressure in tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, local and government safety agencies.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, and able to navigate between different software applications and formats.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Confident speaker with the ability to facilitate safety presentations and meetings.
  • Must have own reliable transportation with the ability for travel.
  • First Responder certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a COR Internal Auditor is preferred – training can be facilitated.
