If you have an interest to design and develop equipment fabrication designs and enjoy project management, then this is the perfect job for you! We are looking for a Fabrication Designer for our Surrey Rail location.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop and prepare engineering designs, engineering calculations, and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other required information.

Work with 3rd party vendors and support them in the manufacturing and procurement process.

Administer project plans, schedules, work hours and budgets for both internal and external stakeholders.

All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
College diploma or university degree or related experience in mechanical engineering/design
-
At least 3 years’ experience as a mechanical draftsperson/designer, project manager or similar position, preferably in a job shop or small batch run production environment

Proven proficiency using 3D design software, SolidWorks preferred
-
Proficiency using 2D drafting software, AutoCad preferred
-
Hands-on production or troubleshooting experience an asset

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Experience designing welded fabrications, machinery components, and hydraulic systems. Experience designing electrical control systems an asset

Strong working knowledge of drawing standards, including the proper use of welding symbols, material specifications, and GD&T
-
A tenacious personality that will not let an issue be left unresolved

Attention to detail and produces high quality work to deadline

Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills

Strong work ethic and positive team attitude

Must have a valid driver’s license
